Our Story

Our Story

For most of my career I worked inside the world's great fashion houses. I understood quality from the inside. When I stepped back to raise our four daughters, the creative instinct never left me.

Twig began with one dress I designed for myself. It became two. Then a collection. Then a conviction that fashion could be beautiful and responsible without compromise. Every piece we make is proof of that.

— Nicola, Founder

Twig is part of a growing movement towards circular fashion — sourcing what already exists, making it last, and leaving nothing wasted.

"

Once a fabric is gone, it's gone and that rarity becomes part of the story of each piece.

There's something genuinely rewarding about building a collection around materials that already exist.

the Why

Every Twig piece is made in London. Not as a label or a point of pride, simply as a fact of how we operate. The studio is small. The team is skilled. The relationship between the fabric that arrives and the garment that leaves is one we oversee personally, every time. London is not incidental to what Twig is. It is essential to it.

The Making

Cut and made by hand in London by a small team of skilled makers. Close oversight. Uncompromising finish.

The Founder

A career in luxury fashion. Four daughters. A wardrobe full of pieces that almost got it right. Twig began as the dress I couldn't find anywhere else.

The Origin

It began at a fabric fair in Paris. Not with a business plan or a brand strategy but with a bolt of cloth that stopped me in my tracks. Deadstock fabric from one of the world's great fashion houses, available in a quantity small enough to make into exactly two garments. I bought it. I made them. I haven't looked back.
